Who runs the clinic

Pro Motion Healthcare was founded in 2015 by Stan Chikh, who is the clinic director. Stan is a certified pedorthist (C.PED), C.PED, and assesses, designs and fits custom orthotics. His particular interests include orthotics for children and for complex feet. The clinic’s team page also lists Cynthia Au, Pedorthist.

What a pedorthist does

A pedorthist assesses the feet and lower limbs and designs, fits and follows up custom orthotics and footwear. Certified pedorthists are trained in foot assessment and in making and fitting orthotics. Plans such as Green Shield list pedorthists among the providers who may dispense orthotics.

How the clinic makes orthotics

Every pair starts with an assessment, then a 3D scan of each foot as you stand and a walk on a pressure mat that records your walking pattern. The orthotic is designed from that data and 3D printed, then fitted in your shoes. The clinic checks in with every patient about two weeks after pickup. The full process is on custom orthotics Barrie.

Footwear, compression and braces

Alongside custom orthotics, the clinic fits orthopedic footwear, compression socks (measured by certified compression sock fitters) and knee, bunion and body braces. A patient coordinator helps with motor vehicle accident claims, and the clinic works with WSIB, ODSP and Veterans Affairs.
